Serres Rallye – Support Package

Desert Rose Racing has been involved with the Rally world for over a decade, assisting at all major events, including the Dakar, since 2003.

Desert Rose Racing’s involvement in your Rally adventure begins from the moment you commit to our service package. We can give you advice on preparation, providing the very best training possible to see you through to the finish line; supporting you to make the correct choice of bike and advising you on documentation and visas.
Transport of bikes and equipment will be to and from Desert Rose Racing’s workshop at Herstmonceux.
Departure for the Serres Rally will be around the 22nd of August (TBA) It is your responsibility to ensure that your bike is delivered to us before this date.
Your bike and equipment will be transported back after the 6th of September and we will contact you to collect your bike and equipment from us as soon as it arrives back at our workshop.
In addition to the bike, Desert Rose Racing will transport two 64 litre boxes (with a maximum weight of 40kg) and one kit bag for you.
We will also transport a set of wheels with tyres fitted, plus 5 additional tyres. Tyres and mousses can be ordered from Desert Rose Racing (please contact us for more information/prices).
We are happy to transport additional equipment above this allowance, but will levy a charge of £15.00 per kilo for this service.
Desert Rose Racing will carry spares but you may wish to provide your own items. These must be packed in your 64 litre container and will form part of your weight allowance.
You will be required to provide your own sleeping bag and roll mat. A pop-up tent will be provided by Desert Rose Racing if camping.
DRR Support Vehicles & Equipment
Desert Rose Racing will officially enter one of their prepared vehicles, which will carry mechanics and rider equipment. The bikes will be carried to the rally start at the Elpida hotel, within Desert Rose Racing’s truck or on a covered trailer.
The support vehicle will be based at the bivouac , if it is necessary to go to the check points then the support vehicle will do this.
Desert Rose Racing will carry all the equipment necessary to provide a good-quality service area, including the following:
- A 6m x 3m awning, work mats and bike stands
- Generator and compressor
- Air Star light
- Chairs and a table
- Drills, angle grinders, metal plate, general and specialist tools
- Sundries: all sprays, paper towels, disposable gloves, zip ties, gaffa tape, nuts bolts, oil changing containers etc.
- Mousse board and tyre-changing equipment (if you require a Desert Rose Racing mechanic to change tyres for you, this service is available at £15.00 per tyre/mousse)
- Good quality engine oil (we will make a charge for this, if used)
- Commonly-used spare parts, a list of which will be issued a month before the event (these will be charged at RRP (-10%)
- Smiles, laughter, encouragement, support and the value of our experience!
Desert Rose Racing will guide you through the administrative and technical processes at the start of the event.
(Any customer purchasing Support should note that achieving your goal is about getting both you and your bike to the finish line. We will do everything we can to help you achieve your goal, but it is vital that you ride in such a way that you have a chance of achieving this. Everyone has an ‘off’ at some point during an event. However, we need all customers to understand that the assistance we offer is not an open-ended commitment, but a partnership to assist you to the finish line.)
All riders purchasing Full Support must ensure that their bike is in fully-serviced, working condition prior to the start of the event.
Any maintenance or repair work found to be necessary (which should have been undertaken in advance) will be charged at £60.00/hour, plus parts at RRP (-10%)
What Our Support Means for You
It is Desert Rose Racing’s philosophy to encourage every rider in their adventure.
We do everything we can to ensure every rider reaches the finish, rather than support faster riders at the expense of the slower ones.
We will never leave the bivouac until we are sure that all riders are ready for the day’s stage.
In the event of a mechanical breakdown or an accident, we liaise with the organisation to ensure that:
- You are safe and in the hands of the qualified event medical support team, and
- Your bike has been recovered to the bivouac for us to carry from there.
Pricing & Terms
Basic Support: Including Race shirt and Tee shirt £ 1395
Full Support: Including race shirt and Tee shirt £1695
Possible additional charges:
- Bike storage at Desert Rose Racing @ £25.00 per month (or part thereof)
- Excess weight on Desert Rose Racing truck @ £15.00 per kilo
- Tyre/mousse change @ £15.00 per tyre/mousses (this cost is included in Full Support)
- Oil @ £14.00 per litre
- Spare parts @ RRP (-10%)
- Maintenance at £60.00/hour
Please note: Places are limited on this event, so your space will only be confirmed when your deposit has been received as cleared funds.
DEPOSIT: A non-refundable deposit of £300.00 will be required.
