Desert Rose Morocco Boot Camp
1st – 7th February 2019
After the success of our Boot Camps in 2018 Desert Rose Racing is hosting another training week in the desert and dunes of Morocco. This will include learning a large variety of skills, sand riding, navigation, reading the piste and trail ahead, confidence at speed, mechanical troubleshooting and repair and bike setup. The real learning comes from just being out in this truly outstanding environment, and spending the time on the bike and riding these trails. If you have plans or aspirations to do a competition out here then there really is no substitute for training in the desert beforehand.
Navigation is a key factor when it comes to rally training, and one that people often worry about. We’ll put them worries to rest with advice and tuition from our many years of experience. From interpreting the roadbook and tulips, marking them up in a way that works for you, to understanding the navigation equipment fitted to your bike and how to use it all to your advantage. And after all this, spending time on the bikes in small groups putting those theories into practice, developing your navigation skills as we do so.
As well as a focus on navigation, we’ll work on riding techniques, for those that have never ridden in the sand before it can be a rather alien experience at first, by the end of the week though you’ll be thoroughly enjoying it and smiling every time you pour sand out of your boots. Techniques for cornering at speed, vision on the trail and reading the landscape is very important also.
We will also be covering:
1. Riding Techniques
2. Equipment and clothing
3. Trouble-shooting situations regarding you/your bike.
4. GPS training
The cost of the training week includes:
1. Transportation of your bike/kit to Morocco.
2. Road book training and supply of these
3. Tuition on the open piste and dunes
4. Service area each night
The cost for our Training Week is:
**this does not include your flight or beer money**
